Sephora & CVS Makeup Haul

I am aware that this post is like a month overdue but I have been so busy it’s just not true. Am I the only one who doesn’t enjoy the transition period from one routine to another ie. working 5 days a week to working 5 days a week and college 2 evenings a week. I am literally like a bag of cats cause I’m so out of sorts 😂😂.

Anyway! As I promised, many moons ago at this stage, here is my Sephora and CVS makeup haul from Boston. 💁💁💁

davKat Von D “Lock it” Setting Powder – One thing I love about Sephora is that they do loooaaads of Mini and Travel Size Products. You know if you want to try something, rather than buy the full size you can just pick up the mini size to try it and if you like then get the bigger one. If you’ve read my previous posts you will already know that I am a massive fan of the Kat Von D makeup range. This powder is amazing, my new favorite for mattifying my mush.  This little beauty was only $15 too.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – This is another mini from Sephora and it was only $15. I’ve been using it ever since I bought it and it literally does what it says on the bottle. It’s great for oily skin and really helps to keep your makeup in place. I always apply it for work cause the air conditioning reeks havoc on my face. It smells really weird, a not nice kind of weird but if you can get past that it’s grand😅.

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer – Again, another mini, this was only $12. I actually only wear this if I’m going out so a little tube goes a really long way for me. I got it in a set years ago for Christmas and just loved it ever since. Probably the best primer I’ve ever worn? Leaves your skin super soft and completely blurs out any visible pores.

BECCA Glow on the Go Highlighter Set – This set was only $20. I’ve never tried BECCA before and I honestly cannot get enough of this highlight. It’s so shimmery and sparkly, the pigment is just 😱 😱 😱 😱 .

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – I got this eyeliner last year in New York and it STILL works!! It hasn’t run out or even come close to running out – could it be that it is secretly an endless supply🤔. All jokes aside, as I’ve mentioned before in a previous post, this is my favorite eyeliner and the only one I use (along with Inglot AMC gel liner). It’s so easy to use, doesn’t melt off. I picked up another one anyhow because, why not?

TARTE – Tartiest PRO Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette – All you have to do is take one look at this palette to understand why I got it. Doesn’t it just look fab 😍 It even smells like sweety chocolate 😍. This beauty was only $23, again in Sephora. Super super super superdey duper pigmented. The bronze shade is my new go to to contour my face (my cheeks and nose) and the highlights, I use the top shade for daytime and the middle shade for that glowwwww on the weekend. Tarte is officially a new fave of mine 😍.

Burt’s Bees Lip balm – I remember when I went to Australia, 6 years ago now, I bought a Burt’s bees gift box. It had 3 little lipbalms in it and I came home with them a year later. Being a lipbalm addict, again as I mention in a previous post, I love a good lipbalm. Funny enough I actually forgot about these and never bought them after Oz. But I saw these on special in CVS, I think they were like $8?, and couldn’t resist. I now have one in my car, my gym bag, my handbag and college bag. They smell amazing and leave my lips feeling so soft. AND they’re cruelty free guys😍.

Milani Lipstick in “Bahama Beige” – If you haven’t tried Milani yet, please do. It’s another one of those amazing drugstore brands that are such good quality and affordable. I think this was like $5? Really creamy and pigmented, I’m actually raging I didn’t get more but I honestly don’t think I need anymore lip products 😂😂😂.

NYX Plump it Up Lip Plumper – I feel like NYX can be a bit hit and miss with it’s products, I love the brand but some stuff I’ve tried just weren’t for me. I got these in CVS, as it says on them they’re lip plumpers, but when I wore them I didn’t see much of a plump happening. Now, to be honest I don’t mind because I’d rather I didn’t tingle the lips off myself but… if it says plump it should plump right? Anyway, I do love them because they’re actually fab on their own or as a lipstick topper. The nude is really pigmented and perfect to glossy up a nude lip.

MAC – Lipliners, Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour and Lipstick – Can you believe I’ve never ever bought MAC in the airport before? When I was going to Boston I promised myself I’d treat myself to some MAC. Now to some people this isn’t a lot but to me it’s loads. They had a lippy set with the Retro Matte Liquid Lip in “Look  Out” , Lipliner in “Nice ‘n’ Spicy” and the Prep and Prime, I think it was just under €30 and I just couldn’t pass it by. I already wanted to try the Prep and Prime because my sister Sophia swears by it for priming her lips for matte lipsticks. Then I got carried away and got the “Viva Glam II” Lipstick and “Dervish” Lipliner. You all already know how amazing MAC is so I don’t need to explain😊 😇😊 😇.

So guys, there you have it – my Boston Makeup Haul. I was in Liverpool there in September and I did another haul, I will try to do a post on this soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post – if you did, please give it a little like. If you find my blog interesting and want to keep up to date – subscribe using your email. Finally, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask!

As always, thanks for reading😘.

MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick Review

As you all know I am a big liquid lipstick lover, my favourites include Kat Von D to Limecime to Jeffree Star.

Well, last week before I went away I decided I wanted a nice Red Liquid Lipstick. Seeing as we are coming into the AW season and what not. But the thing with red lipsticks for me though is that it’s hard to find the perfect shade that suits me. Some are too bright, some have an orange undertone and they just don’t suit me at all. I tend to always go for WNW Missy and Fiercethe real deep warm reds. I was in Dunnes one day and I walked through the beauty aisle passed the Wet ‘n’ Wild stand.  I stopped to have a look to see what was new and the MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lippies caught my eye. There is only a small range of colours but looking at them I would say there are about 4 that I would definitely wear. Seeing as I was looking for a red I picked the shade Missy and Fierce. I swatched it when I was home and just couldn’t get over how creamy the formula was, no streaks at all even with just one swipe. This shade in particular is just to die for, for me it’s the perfect shade of red.

Anyway, I packed it in my suitcase for my weekend away in Liverpool for himself’s birthday. I think every girl needs a romantic red to wear for a date night. I didn’t want to wear it to dinner because I’d honestly lick it all off. But I wore it one night when we were going out for drinks etc. This stuff really isn’t playing around when it comes to staying power… like… just wow. We went out at about 10.30pm and my fuzzy/drunky memory IMG_20170909_224116.jpgsays we came home at roughly 2.30pm/3.00pm. That lipstick was still on me when we got home – and I would like to add that I didn’t top it up ONCE. I’ve found with some liquid lippies that they begin to fade on the inside first, or they go bitty, or sometimes even peel off. This stuff did not budge, and it didn’t dry out my lips either. It’s also 100% kiss proof and smudge proof. When we were walking home Sean actually said to me – jaysis that stuff is still on you, that’s good isn’t it. I mean, if he even notices the staying power it has to be good right?

And you know what the best part is about it – it only cost me €5.00. A liquid lipstick that stays put and doesn’t cost a bomb – yes please!

You can purchase Wet ‘n’ Wild in select Dunnes Stores and in Penneys. I would 100% recommend these – I’m actually going to go back to pick up some of the other shades, the ones I liked were – Nudie Patootie, Rebel Rose, Give me Mocha, Video Vixen and Goth Topic.

I hope you enjoyed this little review – I picked up loads of new products in both Boston and Liverpool so I can’t wait to show you them once I’ve tried them.

Thanks for reading!

How I keep my smile white 😁

Happy Friday everyone!

Soooooo today I wanted to share my little secret to keeping my teeth nice and white. Now they’re not exactly Hollywood White but they’re white enough for me! I’ve been using the  Beverly Hills Perfect White Black Toothpaste for the past 6 months now I’d say and I can honestly say this stuff is incredible. Aside from the fact that it only cost me like €4, the difference in the colour of my teeth since I started using it is amazing. I didn’t take any before and after pictures so let’s just hope you take my word for it hahaha!

What’s in the toothpaste that makes it so amazing? The main ingredient in the toothpaste 1 bev.jpgis the activated charcoal (which is the reason that the toothpaste is actually black, naturally). Charcoal is proven to be one of the most effective teeth whitener ingredients.  How does it work? Charcoal binds itself to the rough parts of your teeth which are normally surface stains or plaque. Once left on long enough, when the charcoal is removed, it takes the surface stains and plaque with it.

The trick with the toothpaste is to leave it on your teeth for a few minutes, before brushing, to let the charcoal do it’s work (although I wasn’t aware of this when I first started using it). It says on the instructions to achieve the best results, leave toothpaste on for 5 minutes and then brush. I know this seems like a long time, I know when I did it first it felt like ages but it is definitely worth the wait.

I will also mention that I have really really sensitive teeth and this toothpaste didn’t Smile

make them sensitive or anything, they were fine.  Love love love this stuff and it will definitely be a product that I will always have. You can get it in Boots or Bradley’s Pharmacy(that’s where I got mine), for under €5.

So if you are looking for a teeth whitening toothpaste that works, try this! I promise it’s amazing 😁.

I hope you enjoyed todays post😙. I have been thinking about trying some teeth whitening strips, so I decided on trying the iWhite ones as they seem to be the ones that are suitable for people with sensitive teeth. I saw that Boots have them on offer for half price so I am going to pick these up today and give them a go. I wanted to give my teeth that extra glow before I go away in two weeks (TWO WEEKS!!! SO EXCITED). So do stay tuned because I will definitely to a product review on these 😙.

As always, thank you for reading😙.

Eyeshadow Palette Wishlist

I don’t know about you guys but I swear that every time I’m trying to save for a something – such as my holiday which is now 4 weeks away – there’s concert tickets going onsale, Missguided and Boohoo have a sale, you get discount codes sent to you and the worst one of them all, your favorite makeup brand releases a new product. How is anyone supposed to save any money at all with all of this temptation around 😖.

In light of this I thought I’d put together a little wishlist of the eyeshadow palettes that I seriously am drooling over😍. I thought that this might satisfy my needs at this moment in time and possibly prevent me from making any irresponsible purchases😂😂😂.

Inglot Cosmetics Signature Collection Eyeshadow Palettes – If you are an Inglot fan you’ll already know how amazing their eyeshadows are. They’re super pigmented and so easy to blend what’s not to love about them? Not to mention that you can literally get any colour you want with the range that they have. They recently released their new Signature Collection and OH MY DAYS are they fab. The Berry and Candy palettes are my favorite. I love the cranberry tones in the Berry and pinky colours in the Candy palette. I think both palettes are perfect to create a day or night look, I really cannot wait to pick them up and give them a try😍. They retail @ €32 each and are available online here.

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette Flawless 3 Resurrection – As you already know from my previous posts, I am a massive fan of the brand Makeup Revolution. I have so many of their eyeshadow (and blush) palettes already that I use all the time, they’re just so affordable and so pigmented it’s hard not to have so many😅. This palette caught my eye on my Insta feed and it’s definitely next on my list to try. The palette is all matte with warm tones that are just so stunning, the orangey tones I love in particular🤗. This palette retails at €11.50 and you can get this palette in Superdrug or online here👈.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette – Urban Decay have completely outdone themselves with this palette, I still can’t get over how pretty it is😭😭 I already have the Naked, Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes, along with the Smoked, Gwen Steffani and the Vice palettes which are all just amazing.  Again I absolutely love the look of the warm burnty shades in this palette and can only imagine how gorgeous they are when swatched😮 This palette isn’t available in Ireland just yet but is due to be released in Ireland in the end of July, and when that day comes I plan to be top of the queue😏 The other Naked palettes were around the €50 mark so I’m guessing this one will be around the same.

Too Faced Cosmetics White Chocolate Palette – So Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced Cosmetics, Jerrod Blandino, dropped an absolute Chocolatey BOMB on Instagram today. He posted a sneaky peak of the new limited edition White Chocolate Palette and .. I am shook hunny 😳😳😳. I can’t even deal with the colours in it, there are some gorgeous shimmery shades along with some pinky peachy shades.. it all just looks amazing😍. I already have their Chocolate and Semi Sweet Chocolate palette, which I adore, they are so buttery AND they even smell like chocolate! What more could you want🤣🤣. Jerrod hashtagged black Friday and cyber Monday in his post so the guess is that this beauty will be released at the end of November/Christmas Time.

Well.. needless to say I do feel a little better after writing this, the urge has relieved itself slightly! I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please do give it a little like below. Maybe I’ll do more of these kind of posts🤔🤔.

As always, thank you for reading 😇

My secret to shiny, healthy hair 💁🏽

Hello again, and happy Hump Day! 👋🏽

So recently a lot of people have been asking me what I use on my hair, how is it so shiny and is it real. First of all, yes, it’s 100% home-grown by moi which I have been growing since I was 18. Basically when I was 18 I modeled for House of Colour back then and believe it or not I had really really short hair, and I don’t mean bob short, it was shaved short. I liked to call it the Rihanna hairstyle even though it was so far from that it’s not even true! I also had every colour possible in my hair from bright orange to blonde to purple to blue.  So ever since then I have been growing my hair.

Anyway – long story short, I have been growing it ever since then and I did that just by getting it cut regularly. It was stuck at boobie length there for a while though because I had a blonde balayage in my hair and the blonde parts got really dry and just kept breaking. So I got rid of the blonde and went back to my natural colour. It started to grow much better and now it’s sitting right on top of my bum – just like when I was a kid 😂😂

I don’t do anything special with my hair I literally wash it 2-3 times a week – I really do not believe in washing it every day. Aside from the fact that it’s so much effort, washing it too frequently can really dry your hair out and strip it of it’s natural oils. I also don’t style it every day with a straightener or curler, my hair is naturally straight so I only do it if I’m going out, or if I’m a bit of a frizz ball, yno yourself!

Now in terms of products I never really had an all time favourite shampoo or conditioner. My go to would normally be Dove, I love their conditioners they always leave my hair so so soft. Then my dad used to bring us home Creamsilk from the Philippines, and that stuff is like magic on your hair, especially if you’ve thick hair.

BUT!!! This has all changed now because I found a product that has literally transformed my hair. It has not only made my hair so soft and shiny it has made it so much stronger too. It also doesn’t cost you a bomb at only €1.69 per bottle!!😱 😱 😱

What is this sorcery you say?? Wellllll… it’s the new range of Cien Professional products in none other than Lidl! I say new because it’s new enough to me but it was only launched early this year.

The products contain Keratin – which is the natural IMG_20170718_131901.jpgprotein that makes up most of our hair. Keratin helps to protect from dryness and moisturize and repair damaged hair. I picked these up in February and have been using them ever since – my hair just feels so amazing when I use them. I shampoo twice (have been doing this for years now) and I apply only a marble size amount of conditioner through the ends of my hair.

Soooo if you are looking for a new hair product or are looking for something to help dry or damaged hair, I promise that this stuff is worth a try!

Thank you for reading – and feel free to comment with any questions.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I got the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks this week. I have been dying to try these out ever since she released them and I am still wondering why I never picked up any when I was in New York – STILL kicking myself 😭!!!

Anyway, I bought them online IMG_9005.JPGon Debenhams and they were only €21.00 each with free shipping. I picked up two – Lolita and Bow ‘N’ Arrow. I have read so many good reviews on them and I have to tell you that they have definitely lived up to my expectations – they are amazing😍😍! I only unboxed them Monday just gone and I wore the shade ‘Lolita’ to work that afternoon and I am not joking that shit stayed on alllllllll day! I then wore the other shade Bow ‘N’ Arrow last night in work and I literally only had to top it up once. The formula is  in no doubt incredible and it didn’t dry out my lips at all. It feels really light on your lips as well and when you top it doesn’t go cakey like some of the other liquid lipsticks that I have tried.

I am so impressed by them I just couldn’t wait to post about them on my blog – so pardon the excitement🙃. kat-von-d

Kat Von D recently released a whole heap of new Nudey shades and after trying these
babies out I cannot wait to invest in some more – if not all of them! Did I mention that her beauty range is Cruelty Free? Another reason to try it 😙 But with products like hers do you really need any other reason?🤔

Guys, I hope you enjoyed this mini review – and as always, thank you for reading.

My Favourite Lip Balms for Dry Lips

I don’t about you but I am a lip balm addict, like I literally have a lip balm everywhere. I have one in my car, my college bag, my hand bag, my make up (I’m pretty sure there’s 3 in it), my overnight bag, my bedside locker, my car, my jackets.. and yes, the list goes on😂!! I wear it all day every day and I put it on every night, I just cannot go without it. Sean will tell you himself, if I don’t have my lip balm at night I’m like a demon because I can’t go to sleep without it. I know you’re probably thinking I’m a little weirdo and I should probably go and get checked 😂😂, but that’s just me!

I was going to put them in order but I actually can’t choose between the three of them 🤔 so in no particular order, these are my all time favorite lip balms.

Blistex MedPlus

I use this lip balm if my lips are particularly dry or sore (I’m a wagon for pulling at the skinblistex on my lips and I always make them sore!). It contains Jojoba Oil and Cocoa Butter for conditioning and Menthol to soothe and cool your lips. I personally love any menthol lip balms. It also contains SPF 15 so it’s perfect for when you are away as it will protect your lips from the sun. If you get cold sores this lip balm is a savior for relieving your lips of itch and also stopping them from cracking and drying up. You can get it in many pharmacies, I get mine in Boots and it’s only €3.79.

My Mam introduced me to this little jar of wonder and it is definitely one I will use forever.carmex I like to put this one on at night as it contains salicylic acid and this helps to get rid of any dead or peeling skin. I also wear it in work because the air conditioning in work can really dry out my lips, and you don’t need to keep applying it either. I also wear it under any matte liquid lipsticks as I find my lips don’t dry out with it on. It contains Cocoa Butter to moisturize and has menthol for that soothing effect too. If you aren’t a fan of the menthol smell they do have a cherry flavour one which is yummy. Again you can get this in most pharmacies but the best place to get it is Penneys, I think it’s around €3.49.

The Chapstick has been around for decades, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that it’s been around since the early 1900’s 🤓. I always remember my Godmother Betty using Chapstick, the original one with the black label. I used to love using it when I was small, the smell of the original one brings back so many memories! I am genuinely using these lip balms since I was in Primary School, I always kept one in my shirt chapstickpocket and my pencil-case, I still keep a strawberry one in my pencil case!! This would be my day-to-day one when my lips aren’t sore or dry or anything. Some of them contain SPF which again is great for using when you are away. I normally pick up the Flava Craze ones because they contain SPF, and these are the ones I am buying since I was in school. The flavours are just so nice 😍. And again you can get these in most pharmacies, I always find the Flava Craze in Superdrug. I think the single Chapsticks are around €1.49 and the pack is just under €4.00.
So these are my all time favourite lip balms, and now I feel it necessary to throw in some honorable mentions. You all probably know what the EOS lip balms are, they are very popular lately. I picked some up in New York last year and I gave them a try, I have to be honest and say they’re not up there in my all time favourite or best lip balms. Don’t get me wrong they’re great for softening lips etc. but I just feel like they don’t stay on your lips for very long. The only one that I used that I felt lasted loccitanelong enough was the little blue menthol one. Then there’s the L’Occitane Ultra Soft Balm, now this stuff is pretty amazing, my lips are so so so soft when I use this for a while. BUT the only thing is the texture is a bit harder and it can sometimes go on my lips white instead of clear. So if I am using it I tend to use it at night time. But this is just my own opinion on these two products, don’t take my word for it and don’t be put off trying them, some products aren’t for everyone!

Anyway guys, I hope you enjoyed today’s post and as always, thank you for reading 😍
