How I keep my smile white 😁

Happy Friday everyone!

Soooooo today I wanted to share my little secret to keeping my teeth nice and white. Now they’re not exactly Hollywood White but they’re white enough for me! I’ve been using the  Beverly Hills Perfect White Black Toothpaste for the past 6 months now I’d say and I can honestly say this stuff is incredible. Aside from the fact that it only cost me like €4, the difference in the colour of my teeth since I started using it is amazing. I didn’t take any before and after pictures so let’s just hope you take my word for it hahaha!

What’s in the toothpaste that makes it so amazing? The main ingredient in the toothpaste 1 bev.jpgis the activated charcoal (which is the reason that the toothpaste is actually black, naturally). Charcoal is proven to be one of the most effective teeth whitener ingredients.  How does it work? Charcoal binds itself to the rough parts of your teeth which are normally surface stains or plaque. Once left on long enough, when the charcoal is removed, it takes the surface stains and plaque with it.

The trick with the toothpaste is to leave it on your teeth for a few minutes, before brushing, to let the charcoal do it’s work (although I wasn’t aware of this when I first started using it). It says on the instructions to achieve the best results, leave toothpaste on for 5 minutes and then brush. I know this seems like a long time, I know when I did it first it felt like ages but it is definitely worth the wait.

I will also mention that I have really really sensitive teeth and this toothpaste didn’t Smile

make them sensitive or anything, they were fine.  Love love love this stuff and it will definitely be a product that I will always have. You can get it in Boots or Bradley’s Pharmacy(that’s where I got mine), for under €5.

So if you are looking for a teeth whitening toothpaste that works, try this! I promise it’s amazing 😁.

I hope you enjoyed todays post😙. I have been thinking about trying some teeth whitening strips, so I decided on trying the iWhite ones as they seem to be the ones that are suitable for people with sensitive teeth. I saw that Boots have them on offer for half price so I am going to pick these up today and give them a go. I wanted to give my teeth that extra glow before I go away in two weeks (TWO WEEKS!!! SO EXCITED). So do stay tuned because I will definitely to a product review on these 😙.

As always, thank you for reading😙.

Eyeshadow Palette Wishlist

I don’t know about you guys but I swear that every time I’m trying to save for a something – such as my holiday which is now 4 weeks away – there’s concert tickets going onsale, Missguided and Boohoo have a sale, you get discount codes sent to you and the worst one of them all, your favorite makeup brand releases a new product. How is anyone supposed to save any money at all with all of this temptation around 😖.

In light of this I thought I’d put together a little wishlist of the eyeshadow palettes that I seriously am drooling over😍. I thought that this might satisfy my needs at this moment in time and possibly prevent me from making any irresponsible purchases😂😂😂.

Inglot Cosmetics Signature Collection Eyeshadow Palettes – If you are an Inglot fan you’ll already know how amazing their eyeshadows are. They’re super pigmented and so easy to blend what’s not to love about them? Not to mention that you can literally get any colour you want with the range that they have. They recently released their new Signature Collection and OH MY DAYS are they fab. The Berry and Candy palettes are my favorite. I love the cranberry tones in the Berry and pinky colours in the Candy palette. I think both palettes are perfect to create a day or night look, I really cannot wait to pick them up and give them a try😍. They retail @ €32 each and are available online here.

“Candy”

Berry

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette Flawless 3 Resurrection – As you already know from my previous posts, I am a massive fan of the brand Makeup Revolution. I have so many of their eyeshadow (and blush) palettes already that I use all the time, they’re just so affordable and so pigmented it’s hard not to have so many😅. This palette caught my eye on my Insta feed and it’s definitely next on my list to try. The palette is all matte with warm tones that are just so stunning, the orangey tones I love in particular🤗. This palette retails at €11.50 and you can get this palette in Superdrug or online here👈.

IMG_20170721_214133.png

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette – Urban Decay have completely outdone themselves with this palette, I still can’t get over how pretty it is😭😭 I already have the Naked, Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes, along with the Smoked, Gwen Steffani and the Vice palettes which are all just amazing.  Again I absolutely love the look of the warm burnty shades in this palette and can only imagine how gorgeous they are when swatched😮 This palette isn’t available in Ireland just yet but is due to be released in Ireland in the end of July, and when that day comes I plan to be top of the queue😏 The other Naked palettes were around the €50 mark so I’m guessing this one will be around the same.

IMG_20170721_214041.png

Too Faced Cosmetics White Chocolate Palette – So Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced Cosmetics, Jerrod Blandino, dropped an absolute Chocolatey BOMB on Instagram today. He posted a sneaky peak of the new limited edition White Chocolate Palette and .. I am shook hunny 😳😳😳. I can’t even deal with the colours in it, there are some gorgeous shimmery shades along with some pinky peachy shades.. it all just looks amazing😍. I already have their Chocolate and Semi Sweet Chocolate palette, which I adore, they are so buttery AND they even smell like chocolate! What more could you want🤣🤣. Jerrod hashtagged black Friday and cyber Monday in his post so the guess is that this beauty will be released at the end of November/Christmas Time.

Well.. needless to say I do feel a little better after writing this, the urge has relieved itself slightly! I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please do give it a little like below. Maybe I’ll do more of these kind of posts🤔🤔.

As always, thank you for reading 😇

My secret to shiny, healthy hair 💁🏽

Hello again, and happy Hump Day! 👋🏽

So recently a lot of people have been asking me what I use on my hair, how is it so shiny and is it real. First of all, yes, it’s 100% home-grown by moi which I have been growing since I was 18. Basically when I was 18 I modeled for House of Colour back then and believe it or not I had really really short hair, and I don’t mean bob short, it was shaved short. I liked to call it the Rihanna hairstyle even though it was so far from that it’s not even true! I also had every colour possible in my hair from bright orange to blonde to purple to blue.  So ever since then I have been growing my hair.

Anyway – long story short, I have been growing it ever since then and I did that just by getting it cut regularly. It was stuck at boobie length there for a while though because I had a blonde balayage in my hair and the blonde parts got really dry and just kept breaking. So I got rid of the blonde and went back to my natural colour. It started to grow much better and now it’s sitting right on top of my bum – just like when I was a kid 😂😂

I don’t do anything special with my hair I literally wash it 2-3 times a week – I really do not believe in washing it every day. Aside from the fact that it’s so much effort, washing it too frequently can really dry your hair out and strip it of it’s natural oils. I also don’t style it every day with a straightener or curler, my hair is naturally straight so I only do it if I’m going out, or if I’m a bit of a frizz ball, yno yourself!

Now in terms of products I never really had an all time favourite shampoo or conditioner. My go to would normally be Dove, I love their conditioners they always leave my hair so so soft. Then my dad used to bring us home Creamsilk from the Philippines, and that stuff is like magic on your hair, especially if you’ve thick hair.

BUT!!! This has all changed now because I found a product that has literally transformed my hair. It has not only made my hair so soft and shiny it has made it so much stronger too. It also doesn’t cost you a bomb at only €1.69 per bottle!!😱 😱 😱

What is this sorcery you say?? Wellllll… it’s the new range of Cien Professional products in none other than Lidl! I say new because it’s new enough to me but it was only launched early this year.

IMG_20170718_210046.jpg

The products contain Keratin – which is the natural IMG_20170718_131901.jpgprotein that makes up most of our hair. Keratin helps to protect from dryness and moisturize and repair damaged hair. I picked these up in February and have been using them ever since – my hair just feels so amazing when I use them. I shampoo twice (have been doing this for years now) and I apply only a marble size amount of conditioner through the ends of my hair.

Soooo if you are looking for a new hair product or are looking for something to help dry or damaged hair, I promise that this stuff is worth a try!

Thank you for reading – and feel free to comment with any questions.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I got the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks this week. I have been dying to try these out ever since she released them and I am still wondering why I never picked up any when I was in New York – STILL kicking myself 😭!!!

Anyway, I bought them online IMG_9005.JPGon Debenhams and they were only €21.00 each with free shipping. I picked up two – Lolita and Bow ‘N’ Arrow. I have read so many good reviews on them and I have to tell you that they have definitely lived up to my expectations – they are amazing😍😍! I only unboxed them Monday just gone and I wore the shade ‘Lolita’ to work that afternoon and I am not joking that shit stayed on alllllllll day! I then wore the other shade Bow ‘N’ Arrow last night in work and I literally only had to top it up once. The formula is  in no doubt incredible and it didn’t dry out my lips at all. It feels really light on your lips as well and when you top it doesn’t go cakey like some of the other liquid lipsticks that I have tried.

I am so impressed by them I just couldn’t wait to post about them on my blog – so pardon the excitement🙃. kat-von-d

Kat Von D recently released a whole heap of new Nudey shades and after trying these
babies out I cannot wait to invest in some more – if not all of them! Did I mention that her beauty range is Cruelty Free? Another reason to try it 😙 But with products like hers do you really need any other reason?🤔

Guys, I hope you enjoyed this mini review – and as always, thank you for reading.

My Favourite Lip Balms for Dry Lips

I don’t about you but I am a lip balm addict, like I literally have a lip balm everywhere. I have one in my car, my college bag, my hand bag, my make up (I’m pretty sure there’s 3 in it), my overnight bag, my bedside locker, my car, my jackets.. and yes, the list goes on😂!! I wear it all day every day and I put it on every night, I just cannot go without it. Sean will tell you himself, if I don’t have my lip balm at night I’m like a demon because I can’t go to sleep without it. I know you’re probably thinking I’m a little weirdo and I should probably go and get checked 😂😂, but that’s just me!

I was going to put them in order but I actually can’t choose between the three of them 🤔 so in no particular order, these are my all time favorite lip balms.

Blistex MedPlus

I use this lip balm if my lips are particularly dry or sore (I’m a wagon for pulling at the skinblistex on my lips and I always make them sore!). It contains Jojoba Oil and Cocoa Butter for conditioning and Menthol to soothe and cool your lips. I personally love any menthol lip balms. It also contains SPF 15 so it’s perfect for when you are away as it will protect your lips from the sun. If you get cold sores this lip balm is a savior for relieving your lips of itch and also stopping them from cracking and drying up. You can get it in many pharmacies, I get mine in Boots and it’s only €3.79.

Carmex

My Mam introduced me to this little jar of wonder and it is definitely one I will use forever.carmex I like to put this one on at night as it contains salicylic acid and this helps to get rid of any dead or peeling skin. I also wear it in work because the air conditioning in work can really dry out my lips, and you don’t need to keep applying it either. I also wear it under any matte liquid lipsticks as I find my lips don’t dry out with it on. It contains Cocoa Butter to moisturize and has menthol for that soothing effect too. If you aren’t a fan of the menthol smell they do have a cherry flavour one which is yummy. Again you can get this in most pharmacies but the best place to get it is Penneys, I think it’s around €3.49.

ChapStickchapstick-flava

The Chapstick has been around for decades, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that it’s been around since the early 1900’s 🤓. I always remember my Godmother Betty using Chapstick, the original one with the black label. I used to love using it when I was small, the smell of the original one brings back so many memories! I am genuinely using these lip balms since I was in Primary School, I always kept one in my shirt chapstickpocket and my pencil-case, I still keep a strawberry one in my pencil case!! This would be my day-to-day one when my lips aren’t sore or dry or anything. Some of them contain SPF which again is great for using when you are away. I normally pick up the Flava Craze ones because they contain SPF, and these are the ones I am buying since I was in school. The flavours are just so nice 😍. And again you can get these in most pharmacies, I always find the Flava Craze in Superdrug. I think the single Chapsticks are around €1.49 and the pack is just under €4.00.
eos
So these are my all time favourite lip balms, and now I feel it necessary to throw in some honorable mentions. You all probably know what the EOS lip balms are, they are very popular lately. I picked some up in New York last year and I gave them a try, I have to be honest and say they’re not up there in my all time favourite or best lip balms. Don’t get me wrong they’re great for softening lips etc. but I just feel like they don’t stay on your lips for very long. The only one that I used that I felt lasted loccitanelong enough was the little blue menthol one. Then there’s the L’Occitane Ultra Soft Balm, now this stuff is pretty amazing, my lips are so so so soft when I use this for a while. BUT the only thing is the texture is a bit harder and it can sometimes go on my lips white instead of clear. So if I am using it I tend to use it at night time. But this is just my own opinion on these two products, don’t take my word for it and don’t be put off trying them, some products aren’t for everyone!

Anyway guys, I hope you enjoyed today’s post and as always, thank you for reading 😍

Say Bye Bye to Sweaty Betty 👋

Some of you may find this post a little bit gross, but to be honest with you – I don’t really give a rats because I really believe these are things we should be able to discuss and shouldn’t feel ashamed of or shy away from👍.

What is it that I am talking about? I am talking about sweat patches due to excessive perspiration or sweating. Does anyone else suffer with this? As soon as I hit my teens this started as a massive problem for me. It really took its toll on my confidence, I wasn’t comfortable in myself and was always feeling so self conscious. It was so bad that I couldn’t wear any coloured t-shirts or hoodies, I couldn’t even wear vest tops where the arm hole was close to my arm pit. It was horrible! I tried so many different deodorants from roll ons to sticks to sprays, everything. In the end I learned to adjust and just wore things that were not too tight and not too close to my arms. But this was just getting harder because there were always clothes I’d see that I wished I could wear but knew I couldn’t because I would get bad sweat patches. I got on with it for years because I literally just couldn’t find anything to solve it, I was so sure I had tried everything.

Just after I turned 21 I came back from Australia after being away for almost a year and I got a job in The Red Cow in the bar. My worst nightmare literally came to life, part of the uniform was a royal blue shirt. A ROYAL FUCKING BLUE SHIRT!!!😖😖 When I saw it I honestly wanted to tell them I wouldn’t take the job, but I couldn’t because I needed work. So on my first day I spent it checking my underarms every hour. I swear they must have thought there was something wrong with me going to the toilet every hour🤣🤣. I was working full time so you can imagine what I was like. I tried everything, I wore a top underneath to try keep the shirt dry, that didn’t work because I actually just sweat more. I tried drying them every hour in the toilet and that didn’t work, for obvious reasons. THEN I tried tucking tissue into my bra, like near my underarms, in the hopes that this would absorb the sweat but that didn’t work either, of course 😅. Every day I moaned about it to my Mam, I just felt so horrible and I was so paranoid in work that people were looking at me and thinking “jaysus she’s a sweaty one”. It was starting to get the better of me at this stage because I was just fed up and had had enough, I wanted a solution at that was the end of it.

One day my Mam came home and told me about this stuff that her friend had recommended to her. A roll on deodorant that you put on at night and it stops the excessive sweating. When I first heard I was thinking such a thing didn’t exist because I was full sure I had tried every product out there. But she gave me the name and we went around to the pharmacy and picked it up. I tried it that night and followed the instructions as they were given.

Guys, I am not joking when I say that this stuff literally changed my life😲. I was using it for at least two weeks before I started to see the benefits. The sweating had stopped and I therefore stopped getting the sweat patches. I was so so happy I couldn’t believe it. I could go to work in my lovely royal blue shirt without a worry in the world. I went shopping thereafter and picked up a grey hoody which I could never wear and then I went and got colourdy t-shirts. But best of all, I picked up a dress with sleeves and I wore it out one weekend without event thinking twice about putting it on.perspirex

I assume you’re wondering what this stuff is that I am talking about? Well, it’s called Perspirex, also known as my secret weapon and my lifesaver. So how do you use it? These
are the instructions directly from the website –

1. Apply to dry and unbroken skin
It is very important that your skin is completely dry and unbroken before application.

2. Apply at night
Apply Perspirex at night before going to bed as the sweat glands are less active at night. When you start, use Perspirex every night, until you have achieved the desired effect – usually within 1 week. Allow Perspirex to dry fully after application.

3. Wash off in the morning
Wash off in the morning with soap and water. Do not re-apply as the effect will last even after a shower. Should you wish to, you can also apply a regular scented deodorant or perfume. This will not affect the efficacy.

So I used it every night every second day, I would put it on on a Sunday Night and then again on Tuesday night and again on Friday night. Now it’s really important that you don’t apply it to broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin because it really does fucking hurt 😕 (I only know because I put it on after shaving and sweet lord above in heaven my poor arms were TEEEAAAAAARING!). So they recommend to apply 48 hours after shaving. To give you an idea, if I shaved on Friday I would apply it on Sunday👍. I applied it every two days for about or week or so and then I gradually started to spread it to twice a week and then to once a week. Now I only use it every two weeks because it has worked so well for me.

You can get it in Boots and some pharmacies such as Bradley’s or Lloyd’s, I have also picked it up in Dunnes Stores before. It’s only €11.99 and lasts ages, you just can’t go wrong. Here is the website if you would like to read about the product in more detail and find out all the sciency stuff 🤓 – Perspirex .

Guys if there is anyone out there who is suffering from this and feeling really crappy, this product is something I would 100% recommend you try.

I really hope this post helps at least one person or even gives them hope that there is something out there that you can use to help the problem💕. Trust me when I say I’ve been there and worn the tshirt🤣🤣.

As always, thank you for reading 😘.

Favourite Face Masks

As promised, here is a post on my current favourite face masks. We all love and deserve some quality “me” time and what better way to do it than with a face mask. I’ve started to use them a lot more as I have noticed some improvements in my skin, and I’m not going to lie, I love a little pamper night to myself 💆🏽 These are in no particular order by hmprodthe way and also, they are all cruelty free ☝🏽

  1. H&M Face Masks – I picked up some face masks in H & M ages ago, they were only €2 in the sale and they were really cute, so naturally I bought them! One little pod is enough for one face mask, I got loads of different ones, clay ones, peel off and a sugar one. They all left my skin feeling so soft and clean and they do have so many to choose from. They specify on the packaging what skin type they are for, I always opt for oily skin.

    img_8614

  2. Quick Fix Facials – Anti Blemish Mud Mask – I’ve been using this face mask the longest. This is only €6.99 in Boots and the best thing about it is that it has Salicylic Acid in it. In case you don’t know Salicylic Acid is good for oily or spot prone skin because it breaks down oil and it helps to reduce redness… and it does lots of other sciencey stuff but I won’t bore you with that!

    img_8613

  3. Le Mara Face Mask – I picked up this little bargain
in Aldi for only €4.99. It is an Irish brand called Rí na Mara and Irish made in Galway. Full of Natural and organic ingredients this clay face mask leaves your skin feeling gorgeous, mine literally glows after I use this.

    img_8615

  4. Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel with Active Charcoal Face Mask – I actually only picked this one up yesterday in Boots. I got the little sachets for €1.49 each and they were 3 for 2 (I love a little bargain!). But the bottle is only €4.99 to buy. I tried it last night after my shower and my skin is literally gleaming and so soft! Tea tree oil is good for blemishes and redness and then the witch hazel is really good for oily skin. As for the active charcoal it helps to remove dirt and clean out your pores.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post – if you have any questions feel free to ask!

As always, thank you for reading 😚
