Sephora & CVS Makeup Haul

I am aware that this post is like a month overdue but I have been so busy it’s just not true. Am I the only one who doesn’t enjoy the transition period from one routine to another ie. working 5 days a week to working 5 days a week and college 2 evenings a week. I am literally like a bag of cats cause I’m so out of sorts 😂😂.

Anyway! As I promised, many moons ago at this stage, here is my Sephora and CVS makeup haul from Boston. 💁💁💁

davKat Von D “Lock it” Setting Powder – One thing I love about Sephora is that they do loooaaads of Mini and Travel Size Products. You know if you want to try something, rather than buy the full size you can just pick up the mini size to try it and if you like then get the bigger one. If you’ve read my previous posts you will already know that I am a massive fan of the Kat Von D makeup range. This powder is amazing, my new favorite for mattifying my mush.  This little beauty was only $15 too.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – This is another mini from Sephora and it was only $15. I’ve been using it ever since I bought it and it literally does what it says on the bottle. It’s great for oily skin and really helps to keep your makeup in place. I always apply it for work cause the air conditioning reeks havoc on my face. It smells really weird, a not nice kind of weird but if you can get past that it’s grand😅.

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer – Again, another mini, this was only $12. I actually only wear this if I’m going out so a little tube goes a really long way for me. I got it in a set years ago for Christmas and just loved it ever since. Probably the best primer I’ve ever worn? Leaves your skin super soft and completely blurs out any visible pores.

BECCA Glow on the Go Highlighter Set – This set was only $20. I’ve never tried BECCA before and I honestly cannot get enough of this highlight. It’s so shimmery and sparkly, the pigment is just 😱 😱 😱 😱 .

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – I got this eyeliner last year in New York and it STILL works!! It hasn’t run out or even come close to running out – could it be that it is secretly an endless supply🤔. All jokes aside, as I’ve mentioned before in a previous post, this is my favorite eyeliner and the only one I use (along with Inglot AMC gel liner). It’s so easy to use, doesn’t melt off. I picked up another one anyhow because, why not?

TARTE – Tartiest PRO Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette – All you have to do is take one look at this palette to understand why I got it. Doesn’t it just look fab 😍 It even smells like sweety chocolate 😍. This beauty was only $23, again in Sephora. Super super super superdey duper pigmented. The bronze shade is my new go to to contour my face (my cheeks and nose) and the highlights, I use the top shade for daytime and the middle shade for that glowwwww on the weekend. Tarte is officially a new fave of mine 😍.

Burt’s Bees Lip balm – I remember when I went to Australia, 6 years ago now, I bought a Burt’s bees gift box. It had 3 little lipbalms in it and I came home with them a year later. Being a lipbalm addict, again as I mention in a previous post, I love a good lipbalm. Funny enough I actually forgot about these and never bought them after Oz. But I saw these on special in CVS, I think they were like $8?, and couldn’t resist. I now have one in my car, my gym bag, my handbag and college bag. They smell amazing and leave my lips feeling so soft. AND they’re cruelty free guys😍.

Milani Lipstick in “Bahama Beige” – If you haven’t tried Milani yet, please do. It’s another one of those amazing drugstore brands that are such good quality and affordable. I think this was like $5? Really creamy and pigmented, I’m actually raging I didn’t get more but I honestly don’t think I need anymore lip products 😂😂😂.

NYX Plump it Up Lip Plumper – I feel like NYX can be a bit hit and miss with it’s products, I love the brand but some stuff I’ve tried just weren’t for me. I got these in CVS, as it says on them they’re lip plumpers, but when I wore them I didn’t see much of a plump happening. Now, to be honest I don’t mind because I’d rather I didn’t tingle the lips off myself but… if it says plump it should plump right? Anyway, I do love them because they’re actually fab on their own or as a lipstick topper. The nude is really pigmented and perfect to glossy up a nude lip.

MAC – Lipliners, Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour and Lipstick – Can you believe I’ve never ever bought MAC in the airport before? When I was going to Boston I promised myself I’d treat myself to some MAC. Now to some people this isn’t a lot but to me it’s loads. They had a lippy set with the Retro Matte Liquid Lip in “Look  Out” , Lipliner in “Nice ‘n’ Spicy” and the Prep and Prime, I think it was just under €30 and I just couldn’t pass it by. I already wanted to try the Prep and Prime because my sister Sophia swears by it for priming her lips for matte lipsticks. Then I got carried away and got the “Viva Glam II” Lipstick and “Dervish” Lipliner. You all already know how amazing MAC is so I don’t need to explain😊 😇😊 😇.

So guys, there you have it – my Boston Makeup Haul. I was in Liverpool there in September and I did another haul, I will try to do a post on this soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post – if you did, please give it a little like. If you find my blog interesting and want to keep up to date – subscribe using your email. Finally, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask!

As always, thanks for reading😘.

Eyeshadow Palette Wishlist

I don’t know about you guys but I swear that every time I’m trying to save for a something – such as my holiday which is now 4 weeks away – there’s concert tickets going onsale, Missguided and Boohoo have a sale, you get discount codes sent to you and the worst one of them all, your favorite makeup brand releases a new product. How is anyone supposed to save any money at all with all of this temptation around 😖.

In light of this I thought I’d put together a little wishlist of the eyeshadow palettes that I seriously am drooling over😍. I thought that this might satisfy my needs at this moment in time and possibly prevent me from making any irresponsible purchases😂😂😂.

Inglot Cosmetics Signature Collection Eyeshadow Palettes – If you are an Inglot fan you’ll already know how amazing their eyeshadows are. They’re super pigmented and so easy to blend what’s not to love about them? Not to mention that you can literally get any colour you want with the range that they have. They recently released their new Signature Collection and OH MY DAYS are they fab. The Berry and Candy palettes are my favorite. I love the cranberry tones in the Berry and pinky colours in the Candy palette. I think both palettes are perfect to create a day or night look, I really cannot wait to pick them up and give them a try😍. They retail @ €32 each and are available online here.

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette Flawless 3 Resurrection – As you already know from my previous posts, I am a massive fan of the brand Makeup Revolution. I have so many of their eyeshadow (and blush) palettes already that I use all the time, they’re just so affordable and so pigmented it’s hard not to have so many😅. This palette caught my eye on my Insta feed and it’s definitely next on my list to try. The palette is all matte with warm tones that are just so stunning, the orangey tones I love in particular🤗. This palette retails at €11.50 and you can get this palette in Superdrug or online here👈.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette – Urban Decay have completely outdone themselves with this palette, I still can’t get over how pretty it is😭😭 I already have the Naked, Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes, along with the Smoked, Gwen Steffani and the Vice palettes which are all just amazing.  Again I absolutely love the look of the warm burnty shades in this palette and can only imagine how gorgeous they are when swatched😮 This palette isn’t available in Ireland just yet but is due to be released in Ireland in the end of July, and when that day comes I plan to be top of the queue😏 The other Naked palettes were around the €50 mark so I’m guessing this one will be around the same.

Too Faced Cosmetics White Chocolate Palette – So Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced Cosmetics, Jerrod Blandino, dropped an absolute Chocolatey BOMB on Instagram today. He posted a sneaky peak of the new limited edition White Chocolate Palette and .. I am shook hunny 😳😳😳. I can’t even deal with the colours in it, there are some gorgeous shimmery shades along with some pinky peachy shades.. it all just looks amazing😍. I already have their Chocolate and Semi Sweet Chocolate palette, which I adore, they are so buttery AND they even smell like chocolate! What more could you want🤣🤣. Jerrod hashtagged black Friday and cyber Monday in his post so the guess is that this beauty will be released at the end of November/Christmas Time.

Well.. needless to say I do feel a little better after writing this, the urge has relieved itself slightly! I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please do give it a little like below. Maybe I’ll do more of these kind of posts🤔🤔.

As always, thank you for reading 😇

Makeup Must Haves

Must Haves for Oily Skin 🤗

Hello everyone! I’m sorry that I have been MIA for a while, I had my end of Semester exams in college and I finally finished up on Friday – THANK GOD!! I forgot how stressful exams are, and I know they shouldn’t stress you out that much because at the end of the day all you can do is your best – and what is better than your best right? Anyway, now that they’re over and done with I will be back blogging weekly 😘

So, as I mentioned in my Slay-liners post, I have really oily skin that I have battled daily since I was about 13. You know, I do realize that having oily skin is both a good and a bad thing, the main bad thing for me is that my make up slides off after a few hours, and I get a shiny head and let’s be honest – shiny heads are not really a good look. While I am aware that strobing and dewy skin is a thing, I am more of a matte person… who loves a hella lotta Highlight 😅.

I am constantly changing my skin care products to help and the one product that has changed things dramatically for me is the Simple Light Moisturizer. I have tried so many Moisturizers that are oil free and mattifying and specifically for oily skin and one day I decided to try the opposite. I used to use it years ago when I was a teenager as I have sensitive skin and at the time I was starting to get some teenage pimples (nightmare!). My friend Ashley gave me two bottles that she wasn’t using and I just said I would try them again.  I remember reading somewhere that your skin produces oil due to a lack of moisture – so I thought, these oil free and mattifying moisturizers could potentially be drying out my skin and therefore making it oilier, or just not helping things. The Simple Moisturizer is fragrance free, colour free and has no crazy chemicals either (also it’s cruelty free). So since I’ve started using this, my skin is literally glowing and I’ve found that my make up is lasting much longer now that I’ve started using it. It’s also definitely not as oily as it used to be.

Another thing I’ve started to use is facemasks – If you follow me on Instagram and you watch my Instagram stories you’re probably aware that I love facemasks and do one at least once a week. I have tried loads – and I have decided just this second that I will save this for another post this week. So – keep an eye out for a Face Mask Blog Post 💆.

Now – for this week’s Makeup Must Have Monday I have chosen three products that are my ultimate Makeup Must Haves for oily skin ☝🏽

  1. The Urban Decay Original Primer Potion. This little gem is m3605970943844_espptravel_originaly all time favorite eyeshadow primer. I always apply this to my eyelids and I apply a small bit under my lower lash line before I apply my eyeshadow. It’s really easy to use I just put a small bit on my lid and rub it in with my finger or a kabuki style concealer brush. It makes blending my eyeshadow easier and also really helps to bring out the eyeshadow’s pigment. It dries really quick and invisible. Before I used this all my eyeshadow would  gather in my crease and ruin my hour of blending and perfecting my eyes – which as we all know, is so fucking annoying!! So now when I use it my eyeshadow lasts an 8 hour shift in work – or a night out dancing in a hotbox nightclub😄. Urban Decay is a cruelty free brand and you can get in Debenhams for €21.00. One little bottle lasts me ages because you only need to use a small bit on your eyes per application.csm_776883_9bd145ecee
  2. The Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti Shine Base (that’s a
really long name isn’t it or is it just me 🤣). After I apply my moisturizer I apply this primer all over my face, bar my eyes. It doesn’t dry matte or anything it just absorbs into your skin really quick and leaves your skin feeling and looking silky smooth. I really like this product because my foundation DOES NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT move. I wear it under my foundation or my bb cream, whatever I’m in the mood of wearing, and my face stays shine free for at least 8 hours. You can get it in Penneys and some Bradley’s Pharmacy and I thinnnnk its about €5.00? (and just to add – this is also cruelty free).
  3. The Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray is by far one of file_000-2the best setting sprays I have ever used. I picked mine up in Sephora when I was in New York and was so impressed with it I have used it ever since. I just spray it on my entire face when I am finished all my make up and VOILA. It sets your make up and
leaves a nice matte finish. I’ve worn it on a 12 hour shift in work, all day and night at a wedding and my make up didn’t melt or go shiny – nada. 100% a must have for your make up bag people! You can get it in Debenhams, the travel size which is the one I have is €40.00.

I hope that you all enjoyed this week’s Makeup Must Have Monday. I will have a few more blog posts this week so if you enjoyed this, keep your eyes peeled 😘.

P.s. In case you’re wondering why I am saying the products are cruetly free is because I have recently decided that I am now only going to use Cruelty Free products. I am still doing loads and loads of research so if anyone has any cruelty free brand recommendations that you think I might not know about, I would love to hear about them!

As always – thanks for reading 😘.
